Music On Mason - The Tradition Continues - Saturday Nov 23 10.30am - 12.30

The Newport Fiddle and Folk Club is bringing Paine Reserve, Newport,  alive ‘To The Sound of Music’ with both the young and mature talent that is to be found in the area.  Music on Mason  has become an institution in Newport in November  since it was started in November 2006  at Sammy’s Bakery.  This year the event has been scheduled to coincide with the final weekend of the Melbourne Music Week.

The event will showcase musicians, publicise the events and activities of the Newport Fiddle and Folk Club (including the Carols at the Substation, Dec 15) and have activities for your children (what is THE AMAZING RED EXPERIENCE?).  It will also be the day to launch Strings West, a youth orchestra that has been created by Sarah Busuttil and Laura Sheridan.  These women met through the NFFC and have joined forces to create a youth classical string orchestra which will become a fantastic focus for musical development and performance of young people in the Hobsons Bay area.

The event is proudly supported by the City of Hobsons Bay Council.
